The Exion RF Microneedling device tightens the skin using radiofrequency energy and targeted microneedling without invasive procedures. The applicator stimulates fibroblasts in the dermis to improve skin health, increase hydration, and enhance plumpness.
If you are pregnant, currently breastfeeding, or have a history of skin cancer, it is not advisable for you to have an Exion treatment. If you have any active skin conditions like acne, herpes or eczema, please wait until the condition has calmed before scheduling treatment.
People with implanted devices like pacemakers, defibrillators or even copper coiled IUDs in the abdomen cannot receive skin rejuvenation with the Exion device. Please contact us for other options that might be available to you.
You shouldn’t need more than 30 minutes after the Exion RF microneedling procedure to recover. Then you can go on with your day.
To prepare for RF microneedling in Mechanicsville, refrain from consuming any NSAIDs (like ibuprofen), fish oil, or ginseng up to one week before. You will also need to stay out of the sun, avoid using any retinol products on your skin as well for 2 weeks prior. For the day of the treatment, you will need to remove any metal from your body.

You will also want to eat a variety of foods that are rich in antioxidants and cleanse and moisturize your skin gently every night. On the things to avoid after treatment, stay out of direct sunlight and don’t wear any makeup on the treated area for 3 days afterward. In the unlikely event that you have any scabs on the treated area after your Exion treatment, refrain from picking at the scabs.
You should be able to see the initial results from the Exion RF Microneedling treatment about 1 week after the first session. It will take about 4 to 5 sessions of the treatment for optimum results. Those final results should last about a year. Then patients can come in for a refresher.
