Before Treatment
If Exion RF microneedling aligns with your needs, we’ll move forward with scheduling an appointment. To prepare for Exion in Richmond, there are a few steps we recommend taking to help maximize your results and minimize any discomfort:
- Avoid Certain Medications: Do not take any NSAIDs (like Ibuprofen and Aspirin), fish oil, or ginseng in the week before your appointment.

Your Exion Treatment
On the day of your appointment, you’ll arrive at Chandler Eye Care and check in with your provider. They’ll guide you to a private treatment room and have you take a seat on the treatment chair. Once you’re settled in and relaxed, your provider will begin your treatment.
Your provider will do a quick cleanse of the treatment area and then begin the RF microneedling. They will slowly pass the Exion applicator over the area, creating micro-injuries while the handpiece simultaneously delivers the RF energy.
The entire procedure is well-tolerated, and patients often describe a warming sensation alongside the microneedling. This is from the RF energy. The length of your Exion RF microneedling treatment will vary depending on the size of your treatment area. Generally, the process is done in about 30 minutes.
Once finished, your provider will give you some detailed after-care steps and outline the rest of your treatment plan with Exion in Richmond.
Exion Post-Care
Immediately following your treatment, you should only need about 30 minutes to recover. After this 30-minute period, you’re free to resume your normal activities and go about your day. There are a few after-care steps we recommend you take, which include:
